The Independent District of Lokot was a autonomous region in German occupied Russia led by Konstantin Voskoboynik, and later after his death on January 8, 1942 by Bronislav Vlasyslavovith Kamiński  from late 1941 to August 1943. The “Lokot State” covered the area of eight to thirteen reyons.

In July 1944 RONA Sturmbrigade was absorbed as a part of the Waffen–SS. With its transfer to the Waffen–SS, the brigade was renamed Waffen–SS Sturm Brigade RONA, and Kaminski was given the rank of Waffen Brigadeführer der SS.
Himmler planned to create a new unit 29th Waffen Grenadier Division der SS (russische Nr.1).
On August 2, 1944 brigade was ordered to prepare a special unit and used it against Polish Home Army (AK) in Warsaw. Mixed regiment (1600–1700 soldiers) of brigade was used against insurgents till August 23, 1944 when German commanders decided the unit was too undisciplined and unreliable. Soldiers of RONA regiment murdered in Ochota district 1000–2000 Polish civilians.
