The 76mm GMC M18 “Hell Cat” was an American tank destroyer of World War II. Armed with an 76mm M1A1, M1A1C or M1A2 gun, the vehicle was the fastest tracked, AFV during World War II with a top speed up to 50 mph (80kph). The last vehicles were used by the Serbian army during the civil war in the former Yugoslavia in 1990–1998! The 76mm GMC M18 was one of the better U.S. AFV produced during WW II. In Europe M18s were used only in Patton’s 3rd U.S. Army and in 7th U.S. Army. In the Phillippines campaign 637th TD Battalion fighting on Luzon and destroyed 11 Japanese tanks.
